Before starting Webvar, Maxim Tarasiouk spent years at some of the most prolific companies in cybersecurity — including CrowdStrike and Proofpoint — where he saw the enterprise software buying process from the inside. The same story played out everywhere: procurement cycles that dragged on for months, pricing that was impossible to benchmark, and buyers who had no leverage to negotiate.

He got tired of the status quo. Vendors were spending millions on sales teams to push deals through, while buyers had no transparent way to compare options or drive competition. The AWS Marketplace was growing fast, but nobody was building the tools to make it actually work for procurement teams. So Maxim decided to build it himself.
